The end is near!

When I got surgery on my knee, I was convinced I'd be up and walking within a few days until the surgery actually happened and I found out it was a 6 week healing process. Ever since then I've been counting the weeks. Tomorrow will be one month since, I am walking of coarse now and the massive limp is gone (unless I've been working my knee to much in one day). Overall I feel great, not 100% quiet yet but give it 2 more weeks and I'll be as good as new.
I went to work for the first time since my surgery yesterday and to be honest it felt like nothing changed, the surgery never happened, I never took a medical leave at work. I was right back at it. Until a few hours pasted and my knee was telling me TOO MUCH! That's when they sent me home...

I have my last appointment with my knee specialist tomorrow morning and hopefully I'll be all done with the doctors and hospital thing. Assuming I won't go back to my accident prone self.

Fears into thrills.

What's everybody's biggest fear when it comes to surgery? Being awake. Well that's the last thing I thought I'd be doing when I went into surgery. Being knocked out is what I had my mind set on but before I knew it I was asking my anesthesiologist for a spinal and we were in the OR jamming out to music and all having a good laugh. Next thing I knew I was laying on the operating table with no feeling from my waste down. If anyone has to get surgery on their knee I recommend being awake for it, it's seriously the coolest experience and I had a lot of fun. Now not so much, I hate not being able to do anything for myself and not being able to control my leg. It's the weirdest thing, it won't do a thing I want it to so I guess I just have to have a lot of patience and let it heal on it's own time. Until then I am completely useless.

One strange decision

I finally went to my knee appointment on Thursday after 4 months of waiting and the doctor took a look at my knee X-Rays and moved my knee around for a good minute or two. He decided that we should go ahead with doing the surgery so my mom signed some forms and the Doctor asked me a very strange question...
Would you like to be awake or knocked out during the surgery?
My instant thoughts were "Well duh!!! I want to be knocked out during it, did you really have to ask?" then he told me that I wouldn't be so loopy and out of it if I got a needle in my back and got frozen from the waist down, plus I could watch the surgery and some people think it's very cool. So that kind of caught my attention, I'm on painkillers right now and they really put me in a loop and I don't like the feeling so much. But watching the surgery would be very...well let's just say I don't really like seeing objects going into bodies that don't really belong, like a knife for instance. I didn't have to make a decision on the spot, he said I can let them know the day of but knowing me I won't know my answer until the day of. So...any suggestions? I watched a knee surgery once on youtube and that kind of made my stomach turn and do flips, I'm very much leaning towards the getting knocked out.
