The 11 Eggs

It's spring break, every year my friends head some where hot and I get green with jealous rage. This year my family decided we can go to Idaho Falls. I love Idaho Falls, it's always a fun time visiting family and we're all extremely loud so it just makes it even funner. We went to the body museum which was amazing, I thought the idea of being in a room full of dead bodies would bother me but it didn't it was an awesome experience. Last night was Cortney's Bridal shower which was a lot of fun and after we went to her apartment to play wii with Derek. Me and him were the only ones that could stay awake so we played for quite awhile. (This is all just a short summary of my weekend it gets better).

Most people say they don't like surprises but if they truly don't know about them I'm pretty sure everybody enjoys them. I woke up this morning thinking no Easter Bunny would come because my mom said she really wasn't into it this year and I had no problem with that. All my cousins get together in the family room and we find out the Easter Bunny did come and we were told to find 11 eggs hiding around the house. My brothers weren't into it but me and Kenzie went zooming across the house searching. After the 11th egg was found we opened them and found different picture of random things and then I clued in, they were pictures of things in Vegas. Still confused I asked "so what does this mean?" Then my parents told us we were heading to Vegas tomorrow! I was satisfied with being in Idaho all week but heck! It was my turn to come back to school with a tan. The thing that surprised me most nobody in our loud family leaked the secret, and apparently I don't take hints well because I did not pack ANY shorts. Oh well...time to shop on the strip ;)

Go insane, go insane!

This past week was one I hope I remember forever. No, I didn't have a life changing experience.
Lately I've come to realize that I would way rather have amazing little experiences than one HUGE life changing experience. Though huge experiences are more noticeable I've learnt that just the little things can be 10x better once you keep a look out for them.

I'll just summarize my week for ya :)

The little things that made me smile:

• having 3 days off
• going to Fort Mac to watch/support the Cardston boys playing rugby there
• watching Christian taking a guy out and re-enacting it over and over
• Visiting Christian at work and quoting Julian Smith videos
• Playing soccer in the rain
• Attempting to study with Briggs & Christian 
• Re-enacting Hot Rod fight scenes during the power outage with Christian
• Lighting candles 
• Going to 2 amazing dances (Car Wash, Priest/Laurel)
• Getting bruises from moshing
• Jacob's singing while dancing 
• Christian's obsession with Justin Bieber 
• Dancing to the Numa-Numa song with Carter just like the old days
• Getting a text from Carter asking if I made it home safe (what an awesome cousin)
• Getting cobra smacked in the face by a french kid & Carter 
• Skyping with Kayden
• Sending strange sleep texts 
• Watching the 7 Harry's over and over
• Deciding to go to Rugby Spring Camp
• Finding out I'll actually be leaving Cardston for Spring Break
• Talking to Christian's dad about all the different kinds of Pineapples and Bananas there are (made me want to add something on my bucketlist)
• Did I mention the dance in the Car Wash!?
• PIE! (that's all I really need to say about that)
• Ice cube fight 
• Sleeping on the couch (I love sleeping on the couch)

Up, up & AWAY!

In this  post I mentioned mine and Christian's amazing idea, making giant paper airplanes and we went through with it on Friday. Who knew a paper airplane could occupy a group of teenagers for quite a few hours. I wish I got some pictures of us flying it down main street, lions park, and other big hills but we were having too much fun.

Better Together

I was going to wait until the video was uploaded and ready to show to the world but I'm just way to excited! Why? Well here's a short story for ya.

Last night I got a call from Christian Burton begging me to go over to Briggs' house to listen to them sing and express my HONEST opinion on how they sound and to help them fix anything they need changed. Well I was out the door before he hung up and on my way. Thinking I was only going to be there for half an hour tops I found myself there for 3 hours listening to them sing this song over and over. It only got better and better and got me more and more excited for the talent show. It was so much fun jamming out with them and singing obnoxiously.

Today we planned on skipping 3rd period and practicing more and they asked Fielding if he wanted to sing with them. Long story short Christian and Fielding complete each other. Let's just say they sound Better Together ;) As soon as the video is on youtube I'll post it. I'm just not a very patient person. GET EXCITED!

Better things.

This whole post just might be one huge cliche but it's been on my mind so I'll let it out.

Everybody knows that quote that goes something like this "things fall apart so better things can fall together". I've always HATED that quote because who would want something to fall apart?! Well within the last month my life as turned around, things fell apart and better things came together. I lost a really good friend and surprisingly it wasn't that hard for me because I knew it would be good for me but in the process I made a really good friend. Well I wouldn't exactly say made a friend because we have been friends for a few years but we have become so much closer. This guy makes me actually want to go to school just so we can chat through class and lunch. He is such a good listener and completely honest and everybody needs that right? Even if it's not what you want to hear. We work at the same place, not the same department but we're always visiting each other and coming up with insane plans. Our lastest I am sooo excited about! He was taking down those giant posters that hang at Extra Foods and I ran up to him and the most insane idea came into my head and I yelled it out before giving any thought at all "GIANT PAPER AIRPLANES!". You have no idea how I am about doing this. Twill be great!

Apparently magazines are more interesting if you read them upside down. 

Who is this guy? Well he's the guy that makes work a bit more bearable when he's around.

Life Lesson #1

In Bio our teacher teaches us life lessons, number one on his list is "Don't be afraid to just ask".
Well a couple days ago Mackenzie, Charlie and I went to DQ through the Drive Thru and as we got to the window long story short we asked if we could have our blizzards for free. We kind of giggled after knowing there was no hope it in actually happening. Well to our surprise we got 3 small blizzards for free. We saved ourselves $15.

Ever since Mr.Janisko shared this life lesson I've kinda lived that motto. Getting a free blizzard was the biggest thing that came out of "just asking" but I've had little things happen to me too, not life changing amazing things but just things that have made my day better. If you live by that motto I'm pretty sure you can go through the day with no regrets and you won't be asking yourself "what if?"

Worth Of a Soul

Yesterday during "Ladies Night Out" my mom and I were at the book store looking for a picture of Christ to put above our fireplace and I fell in love with a certain painting. It wasn't the type of picture my mom was looking for but it was one that meant a lot to me.  This picture I found was around $400 and there was no way that I could afford it. So I went looking for the picture for a cheaper price and found it for $10 and would not let go of it. The name of this painting was Worth of a Soul and the story I found behind the painting made me fall even more in love with.

One of the first children I met was Kennedy, the little boy you see in the painting. At three years old he has lost both of his parents to AIDS and was found living alone with his six year old brother and ten year old sister. When I thought of those three children struggling to survive and the millions of others across Africa in similar circumstances, I felt an overwhelming hopelessness and said to myself, "No amount of money can fix this."
Later that day while we were filming, Kennedy jumped into the arms of the man portraying the Savior. As I stood watching them, Kennedy turned towards me and our eyes met. At that moment I knew it wasn't hopeless. I realized that the Savior can fix not only the problems of Africa, but of the whole world... and we can be His hands to do it.
Looking back I realize that my reasons for not wanting to go to Africa are likely the same as yours. We are busy and feel like we cannot make a difference, but I know now that neither is true. We are never too busy to lift another and every good work is known to Him who said, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of... these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Ever since I was little I've wanted to go to Africa to give service and I think that's why I love this picture so much, because even though no amount of money in the world can fix what has happened to this little boy or anybody in Africa the Lord can and like the painter said we can be His hands do to do it. This is still a dream of mine and I hope that one day I can full fill it. 

What's it to ya!?

For the past week the weather has been amazing! Summerlike. So I've been wearing flip flops every day and I actually wore shorts one day. I've been getting tons of comments like "Why are you wearing flip flops it's not summer!?" "Where's your shoes?" Anyone who knows me knows that I don't like shoes, love buying them, love the look of them but hate wearing them. If I can get away with it I'll go barefoot everywhere. A couple days ago I was playing basketball outside with my brother and every time I've attempted to go barefoot the cement was way to cold and I could only last a few seconds. Well this evening I found it quiet warm on my feet. So what if I don't wear shoes, it ain't hurting you. Only person it could possibly hurt is me and I got tough feet.

Now that I'm done writing this I find it kind of weird that I'm writing about feet...oh well. That's me for ya ;)
