Pink

I can't figure out if this is a blessing or not...
I was suppose to speak at Ryan's farewell today and I woke up this morning with a swollen eye, I could not open it.
Turns out I have pink eye.
So I didn't have to speak in front of all thems peoples.
Now I'm thinking I wish I could have just spoken rather than deal with this.
You see, I can't look at something for too long. I was trying to read and my eye decided it would shut and hurt like crazy so I decided to watch some Prison Break instead, this time though my eye decided to water like none other looking like I was crying over the show. I didn't get a good look of myself until my family got home from church and my mom told me "Kiara you look horrible!"
I looked in the mirror and well...I don't even recognize myself.
I'm debating whether I should post a picture or not, it's kind of funny.
Let's just pray I heal up before camp tomorrow...

A Split Second

This morning I had to make a split second decision, you know those ones you see in movies where you really don't think at all you just instantly say what your heart tells you.
Yup, it was quite the moment.

Let me fill you in.
I woke up this morning,
ate breakfast
curled up in a blanket
read a book
drank hot chocolate

The phone rang!
Kiara: "Hello?"
Dude on the other end: "Hey! It's Mr.Janisko!"
Kiara: "HEY!"
Janisko: "Wanna go to Arizona in October with a bunch of people for a Bio Trip, Come to the school right now and I'll go through some details"
Kiara: "Alright"

So I made my way to the school and right on the spot he tells me that I need to make a decision on the spot because the plane tickets were going fast. So without even thinking I said "HECK YES!"

So I booked them tickets, I am pleased to announce October 5th I will be getting on a plane and heading to Mesa, Arizona then making my way to Havasupai Trail doing a wicked long hike and camping. I heard it's amazing and I love hiking so this is great!!! Another bonus is we're spending a night in Vegas. Wicked eh!?

Here are some pictures!

Would you look at that!? Just look at it!

An understatement

Well, mud.
Ya I've got some stories about that stuff.
In the most before when I mentioned getting a "little" mud on the tires...well little did I know that that was the biggest understatement.

It didn't take us long at all to become acquainted.
You see there is this boy.
His name is Morgan Merrill, you may know him?
Well not even two minutes after we got on his quad did he decide we needed a little mud on us, now when I say a little that is another understatement.
My friends, I my skin color changed!
There was not a piece of visible skin on me, or him.
We were so slippery with muddy goodness that I could hardly hang onto him until the sun made him a dried up mud monster.
Lovely I know! But really it was.
I had a lot of fun, that boy knows how to give someone a wild ride.
Y'all should have seen the faces I was pulling every time we'd hit a jump.
YIKES!
I wish we got some pictures, but we were just having way to much fun for that.
I have a billion fun stories to tell but I you know you kind of had to be there.

We won 2 contests that day, the muddiest and the fastest.
Yup, twas an amazing day.

P.S.
A little advice to you ladies out there looking for a Prince, do not kiss a frog they really don't turn into one. I'm sure there are more sanitary ways of finding a dude than this! (Morg told me & Charlie to do it)

Mmmmud

I was going to wait and write a post after the occasion but the truth is I'm just way to excited!
Today I will be mudding with 8 amazing peoples. School will officially be out for me and I don't work tomorrow so this means....

PARTY PARTY PARTY!
Oh how I can't wait to squish my toes in the mud and throw a couple bodies in them mud holes.
Thanks you sunshine for being so hot against my skin!

I don't think there can be a better way to kick off the summer than getting a little mud on the tires.

B-I-O

Today I planned on studying for my Bio exam tomorrow (LAST EXAM!)
I got up early, showered and made my way to the school and got Mr.Janisko to quiz me, my sister, and Charlie. Well after that instead of locking ourselves in a room and studying the rest of the day we decided to study the real deal. So we took a trip to Lethbridge and called this studying. Well I did learn a few things that you just might not learn in a classroom
Like...

-Woman should think twice about wearing a short skirt and bending over, let's just say I saw a bit to much of a stranger today...I'll leave it at that.
-Mosquitos will continue to bite you even if you do bite back
-Do not attempt to speak Japanese to a Japanese person
-Don't wear clothing that confuses old woman, they ask to many questions.
- (This is not something I learnt but something everyone in the vehicle learnt) DO NOT TOUCH KIARA'S TIMBITS!
-Do not shove chopsticks up your nose in attempt of "becoming a walrus" side effects may involve a bloody nose
-Don't dance around parking lots when there are Hutterites around, they really start to believe us white folk are possessed
-Do not attempt Kung Fu moves around people you think don't know any moves because they might surprise you and you may or may not end up on the floor with the wind knocked out of you (Thank you Christian Burton for not telling me you were in Martial Arts)
-Do not suggest to play a game to torture others if you do not want to be tortured.
-Don't start giving a massaging and stop 2 seconds later thinking the person would be okay with that..."NO YOU KEEP GOING OR I WILL...."
-When it comes to actually studying do not answer a question incorrectly around Burton because he WILL make sure you will remember to get it right the NEXT time...
--The last thing I learnt and I ask myself, why do I not have a camera!?---

&& my last bio note for the day

The Worst

I am the WORST teenager out there, I'm convinced.

I'm technology retarded, I CAN'T work any of the TVs in my house.

I CAN'T sleep in- I'm wide awake at 6:45 every morning, perhaps I should start running?

I HATE texting deeply (call me then I'll chat with ya) seriously I never have my phone on me and it makes people kind of angry when they are trying to find me (sorry mom).

I'm not a huge fan of junk food
I hate how pop makes me cry and get the hiccups every time I drink it
Chips make me feel yucky

Since I'm mentioning the fact that I'm the worst teenager out there maybe I should mention something else I'm terrible at...
Softball, particularly the batting part. I'd like to apologize to my team "Moses Clean Up Crew" for my pathetic effort last night. But hey I did get someone out on second ;) That was followed by a happy dance which distracted me and then I let someone through second...But hey I had fun! That's all it's about...right? RIGHT!

She can't be tamed!

Today I have been in such an odd mood, The right thing to do would probably be to right an apology to the town and put it in the newspaper BUT...naw ;)

I woke up this morning a little too late and thinking it was a Saturday I wasn't too panicked until the second time I woke up and realized I have an exam. So I quickly put my sick hair up. I'm beginning to think that is what caused my odd mood. You see my hair is at the top of my head and I went to school like that with no shame at all, then proceeded to go out to lunch with the same up do. Lunch itself was an adventure, I think I did apologize to some people there. I started stuffing watermelon in by cup because it wasn't "moist" enough. Ya! Who knew! My watermelon was lacking water!

Hm...what next. OH! I got in my truck to go pick up my cheque with Shayna and blared some odd song and sang at the top of my lungs with the windows down. A delivery truck decided to pull in front of me going extra slow and I was still singing super loud and pulling funky dance moves when I realized I was at a complete stop singing to Morgan who happened to be standing on the side of the road at the time (talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time) probably tortured the poor boy's ears. Wups!!

Besides laughter who can guess the next best medicine?!
...
...
.......
Making ugly faces |:) How could that not make a strangers day?! I really hope I didn't offend anyone with some of the faces I have made today. This brings back a memory! Let me share!

When my sister and I were little tots my mom made us stay in the van while she grabbed something at a grocery store. We were bored just sitting around so we started making faces at the vehicle parked next to us. Well the old woman in the vehicle was deeply offended and waited for my mom to come out of the store to tell her what horrible "crime" we committed. Ya we got grounded from our purple popsicles my mom just bought us. Sad story...

I learnt something today. I am becoming more like my mother. You see she gets scared easily, anyone who has heard her lovely horror scream is left def for a good couple days. Well I realized today while I was driving downtown that any sound that is unusual causes me to jump and scream extremely loud. Shayna got a kick out this.

Well I apologize for this extremely confusing post, I feel like I'm jumping everywhere but it's kind of the mood I'm in right now. Have a good day folks, I challenge you to make an ugly face at a stranger today.

I deeply admire this frog.

Ugh

Today was...
Ugh..
Today.
That's all I have to say about that.

Well there is a reason why we occasionally have bad days, it's so we can appreciate the good days right?

Say whaaaat?

I think maybe I'm in shock at the moment.

You see today I finished my last day of school, yup I am finished Grade 11. The thing is though it went by a bit too fast. I was trying to reflect on the whole year and I could barely remember the last few weeks let alone the entire year! Don't get me wrong I am beyond ready for the summer. I was just starting not to care about classes. (My attendance records in the past 2 weeks can prove it) I don't think I'm ready for missing people though, but yet again when are we ever ready for that?

Another thing I'd like to add! I quite enjoy cuddling up in a blanket and a book and reading outside during a thunderstorm.

No explanation

This post needs no explanation at all.
Yes that is my mother to the right of me.

Hello!

Y'all see that quote below my picture!!!? It would be much appreciated if someone wrote that in sharpie on my forehead so I can stop forgetting it.

I do not like bad dreams, yet again who does. They make me wake up feeling sad and yucky.

Today is a new day, and a new week.
I was not a fan of last week, and we didn't have a very friendly parting either.
It was stressful, frustrating, and left me disappointed.
Believe me I tried my bestest to make it a good week but so many things got in the way.
This week I'm done school though!!! This means summer my friends.
Honestly I can't tell you how this summer is going to turn out, I don't have any official plans besides going to Montana in August.
Tis my last summer as a high school student, ya I bet that thought just scared y'all.
So I have made a mental list of things I want to do this summer.
But I'm not going to post it ;)

So...GOODBYE LAST WEEK! HELLO THIS WEEK! (be good to me)
and a big welcome to summer

Why yes that is me!

Stop!

The last few days I have been an emotional wreck. I'm thinking about the future way too much! We've all been there. I've been second guessing a lot of things too and then I stopped a realized that I'm the only one that's choosing to be this way. Nobody else can control how I feel right now.
Then I found a quote and it kind of changed my thinking and made me feel better :)

"Stop worrying so much. Worrying is using your imagination to create things you don't want."

I'm usually pretty good at living in the moment and not thinking too hard on things but every once in awhile I panic a bit. All I need is a good slap in the face and I'm all good! ;)

Something new.

Life is a weird thing when it comes to friendships.
How many times do you cross that persons path without knowing it until it happens.

I was thinking about this today, about a friend of mine.
A boy.

We've crossed each others paths probably more times than anyone can count.
Sometimes what you've been looking for all along comes when your not looking at all.

Now it's like we've known each other forever.

I love new friendships,
a new reason to keep smiling,
new memories.

Kiara and Charlie's Venting

This is what our faces look like right now. We have three and a half days left of school and you can feel it in the air.

STRESS!
PANIC!
MOODY PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!!!

I don't handle stress well...Charlie doesn't handle stress well. So we're going to stare at each other and cry.

Hmm...

Have you ever had a friend who got grounded and you had plans? I'm sure everyone has been there. It's a feeling like your also grounded. I'm very bitter about it. Well that is all.

Hey...CONGRATS!

Aren't we just ridiculous looking!? (That's me on the right)

Here comes a cliche! "It seems like just yesterday" I was at Carter's Grade 9 Grad. This picture was taken then. It's so crazy that he's graduated now! We never tell each other this but I love this guy. He's a load of fun and we've been friends since...well I don't know when. I was very little!!! Someone told me this week that you can't be friends with your family. I instantly started debating them about it because my bestest friends ARE family! They stick with you forever. So I don't have to worry about this guy moving away and going on his mission and losing contact.
Congrats Carter!!!

Remember as far as anyone knows we're a nice normal family...

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday!

I've clicked new post more times than I can count trying to think of something to write about. I would love to write about my weekend but it's so hard to put into words, and because of my lack of sleep it's kind of a blurr! I'll give it a try though.

Friday, surprisingly I didn't have to work! I never get Friday's off so this was a pleasant surprise. But if you know me you know that I need to keep busy, I like the thought of just sitting around but when it comes down to actually doing it...NO WAY! So I volunteered to serve for grad. I felt like I was shopping when I was looking at everybody's dresses, because you know as crazy as it sounds...I'm next! After serving I went onto the temple lawn and chatted with everyone in site which was fun until the cold kicked in! So I made my way to the dance.

The dance, WOW! I swear each dance I go to gets better and better! Everyone was actually dancing and having a good time, there were girls and boys getting thrown in the air and hutterites?...yes I said hutterites. I have no clue what they were doing there but they were a good time! For reals them people know how to party! Christian asked one to dance during a slow song and he was quite proud of that moment. We all know what happens after the dance! ...yup you guessed it.

The party. I'm a wing it kind of girl, I don't make plans and I never planned on going to the grad party but after than insanely fun dance I really did not want to just go home and sleep. So I made my way to the civic center with my good old lads and had a grand time! It was such a weird feeling going to bed when the sun was coming up, I think I yelled at the sun too for doing that something like "Sun why you be getting up I haven't even caught my Z's yet!" Unless I dreamt that...ANYWAYS! I had to work in the morning so the sleeping thing never really happened, I layed there with my eyes shut but I was so scared I'd miss my alarm that I never fully fell asleep.

Today, tis a Sunday. I'm back to loving Sunday...I use to have a hate for it not because of church but because I always had to work and last Sunday I finally proved a point, I didn't show up for work until church was over then told them that I will not show up for work if they keep scheduling me for Sunday's. So they finally listed me as "unavailable". Now I can enjoy my Sundays with some sun, napping, food, & family! :) YAY!

I am well aware this has nothing to do with my post! But I've been thinking about Mario a lot today so.... :)

Simply Short!

Yup this post is going to be a short one, if you couldn't tell already ;) I just have one thought.

Boys who open up doors for girls, you really impress us. Props to your mother for training you that way! :)
